The First Ask Endorses Joanna Whaley in Michigan for 2026 Election

Washington, DC – National women’s PAC The First Ask has endorsed one candidate in Michigan as part of its latest round of endorsements for the 2026 election.

The endorsed candidate is:

  • Joanna Whaley, Michigan HD-02

Whaley will appear on the primary ballot this August and is poised to represent her district in the Michigan State House.

With this announcement, The First Ask has now endorsed 25 candidates in the 2026 cycle, reflecting significant growth and continued success from previous years.

Caroline Welles, Executive Director of The First Ask, issued the following statement:

“These women are community leaders and fierce advocates who understand the real impact state legislatures have on everyday life. From education to healthcare, their leadership will help ensure Michigan families are supported and represented.”

The First Ask works nationwide to support Democratic women candidates and increase women’s representation in state legislatures from 32% to 51%.
